High school junior Trinity Vo (she/her) born in Boston, Massachusetts of two Vietnamese immigrants, sat down with IDIF to talk to us about her background and how being a WOC on a sports team taught her to truly embrace her Asian-American identity.

"I believe storytelling is a powerful way to inform others on personal experiences that they may not have considered beforehand. My particular story embodied the pain that myself and others have experienced feeling uncomfortable in your own skin."

"I wanted to highlight the realities behind sports teams, a place and group of people where we often normalize the feeling of being uncomfortable as a POC. Although it may seem inescapable, we learn to grow from these experiences and truly embrace ourselves."
