HI! I'M SARAH

I'm a senior at Newton Country Day School and the daughter of two immigrants. Growing up I was raised on the belief that there was always a story needed to be told. Maybe it was telling a story about losing my first tooth, riding a bike for the first time, going on a drive for the first time, or being the first born child of two Colombian immigrants. I grew up not seeing many stories that related to my own. I Did it First ( IDIF), is a Blog & Podcast paying tribute to the first-gen /immigrant /BIPOC stories that are yet to be told. By sharing these, I am bringing to light and serving justice to the untold and often ignored stories of immigrant/first-gen/ BIPOC students at PWIs or white spaces. Not only will the Blog/ Podcast serve as a virtual library, an everlasting story, but they will be placed on an accessible platform. This will allow the world to see a glimpse of YOUR story and will require your voice and your vulnerability to share it. I hope that the sharing of these stories provide a sense of comfort and joy to the future generations of people who are just like us and a reminder that you are not alone on your journey in life.
Much Love,
Sarah <3
